Nigel Grundy appointed new Managing Director of Wychavon Leisure
Wychavon Leisure who operate 4 leisure facilities within the district of Wychavon are excited to announce the appointment of a new managing director Nigel Grundy. Wychavon Leisure is a social enterprise organisation, with exempt charity status who reinvest any surpluses back into the business to benefit of the communities they serve. They are also known as Rivers.
Nigel Grundy, has worked in the organisation for over 20 years, the last 5 years in position of Area Manager and was part of the executive team who had managed the organisation as a flat structure since 2020. Wychavon Leisure felt the timing was right to return to a tiered structure allowing them to optomise more strategically going forward with several projects across the portfolio in the pipeline.
Speaking of his excitement as the new managing director, Nigel Grundy commented, “I’m incredibly honoured to take on the role of Managing Director and lead our amazing team in shaping the future of our leisure centres. These spaces are more than just facilities - they’re community hubs where people come to stay active, connect, and improve their wellbeing. Wychavon Leisure are delighted to be working with Wychavon District Council, its key stakeholder on the forthcoming renovation project of Droitwich Spa Leisure Centre which will see Nigel heading these developments on behalf of Wychavon Leisure.
Under the proposal a new learner pool, café and new reception area will be added. Air source heat pumps will be used to provide the new extensions energy requirements. There will also be LED lighting, water saving measure and solar panels installed.
